My awesome India information report!!!

Four weeks ago in Te Ngahere we started to write information reports. The WALT is to write an information report. When we did another report we had to change our WALT. My WALT for my second piece of writing was to use Semicolons and Colons. The first thing is your title, next your introduction, after you have 3 to 4 subtopics then you do your conclusion and lastly, Topic specific words. Down below is my writing:

Have you ever wanted to go to In dia or wanted to learn about India? If so, read this article about India, it will inform you about the National Animal, the Population, the Celebrations they celebrate and the food they eat: this is all about India.
The National Animal of India
The National Animal of India is a Bengal Tiger. Here are some facts about the Bengal Tiger. The height of the Bengal Tiger is 90 - 110 cm at its shoulders. The length of the Bengal Tiger for a male is 2.7 - 3.1 m. The female length is 2.4 - 2.6 m. Fun Fact: The Bengal Tiger's roar can be heard as far as two miles away.
The PopulationThe Population in India is 1.324 billion in 2016. Did you Know!!Did you Know India is the 2nd most populated country in the world!!
Celebrations
India has many celebrations. Here are the top three Famous Festivals / Celebrations in India.
Diwali, Diwali is the most celebrated and most popular celebration in India. This celebration is celebrated all over the world. People wear new clothes and share sweets with friends, family and neighbors. This celebration is celebrated when the   darkest new moon of Kartik month of the Hindu lunisolar calendar. This celebration is celebrated for the new year for the Indanes.
Holi, Holi is when people sing and dance. This celebration is celebrated almost all over the country; this celebration can be seen in North Indian states.  This celebration is celebrated on the full moon (Purnima).
Dusshera it is on  10th day of the month of Ashwin according to the Hindu lunisolar calendar. Which corresponds(have a close similarity; match or agree almost exactly) to September or October of the Gregorian calendar. This celebration is celebrated in Pan India.
Cuisine (Food They Eat )
Lastly here are 3 Famous Indian foods : Butter Chicken, Chicken 65 and Chilli Chicken.
Butter Chicken: Butter Chicken is a India food that is made from Garam Masala, Ginger, Garlic, Lemon or Lime, Pepper, Coriander, Cumin, Turmeric and Chili. The chicken is cooked in a Tandoor (traditional clay oven)
Chicken 65 : Chicken 65 is a spicy the serving temperature is hot. The main ingredients are Chicken, Ginger, Garlic and Red Chillies. This type of dish is Merienda.
Chilli Chicken : The main ingredients are Chicken, Ginger and Garlic Paste and Lemon Juice. Chilli chicken is a spicy the serving temperature is hot. In this dish you are supposed to use boneless chicken but some people use chicken with bones. You eat chilli chicken with rice but you don’t have to.
In India there is a lot of very interesting food and celebrations. In this article you have learnt about the Population, Cuisine (Food They Eat ), the National Animal and Celebrations. If you are traveling to India you will be prepared for busking cities, great food and awesome celebrations.

Yuktha's Amazing Maths Learning Goals!!!

Last week in Te Ngahere, we chose three maths goals from our Ikan sheets that we needed to learn. Our WALT was to Identify what we have achieved in maths and our next learning steps. We made a google drawing to display our new learning goals.

Last week, in Te Ngahere we made Google drawing about our writing goals. On our learning goals we put new learning goals on it for term 3 . Our WALT was Identify next learning goals in writing.

MAKING ICE CREAM!!!!!!!!!!

On Friday the 16th of June, we got to make . . . Ice Cream. We got to make Ice Cream because all of  Te Ngahere finished their learning plans in 10 (Ten) minutes and we got 100%. First we had to do some reading tasks this is the WALT.  WALT use a range of strategies to answer comprehension question. We also had to do a recount for our writing about making Ice Cream my goal was to use  the right structure of a recount. My buddy was Taleisha. After we were done making the Ice Cream we got to . . . eat the Ice Cream it was so salty.

Icey Ice cream (making Ice cream)

On Friday the 16th, Te Ngahere made Ice cream (Vanilla Ice cream). Te Ngahere made the Ice cream at school, because we all got our learning plans done and Mrs Pou and Whaea Chrissy said if we all finished our learning plans once in that week we got to make Ice cream. My buddy was Taleisha.

Firstly, we got two zip lock bags one small one and one BIG one.

Next,  I put cream and sugar in the small bag you could see the sugar sinking to the bottom of the small bag.

Later,we have to put vanilla essance in to make it Vanilla Ice Cream.

After, we had to get a big bag then we had to take it to Mrs Pou for she can put ice in the big bag then we put salt in, (SIX Tablespoons).

Moments later, we had to put the small bag in the big bag with the ice and the salt we had to make sure that the small bag was sealed so that the salt didn’t get into the ice cream because then your ice cream would turn into salt Ice cream.

Later, that we had to go outside to shake the bag with the ice cream in it so that it could get cold.

After, we went outside and shook the bag Taleisha and I took turns shaking the bag. (I shook the bag to hard and it opened and spilled everywhere.)

Then, when we got our Ice cream we had to cut a hole in the corner of the bag.

Lastly, after that everybody was eating their ice cream everybody loved the Ice Cream. The ice cream tasted just like Vanilla ice cream but the ice cream was really sweet and SALTY. (Because of the salt in the ice in the BIG bag.)

The Ice Cream was so fun to make. The Ice cream was kind of nice but not that much.

Tim Tipene author came's to our school!!!

Tim Tipene’s message is that everyone has a warrior inside them. I enjoyed hearing his stories about his life and I like his book they were really funny. I haven’t read his books but Shirly read us Taming the Taniwha and Tim Tipene read us Hinemoa te Toa. Some of the books are : Hinemoa te Toa, Taming the Taniwha, the Wooden fish, Maui the Sun Catcher and more books.

General Knowledge slideshow on Australia!!

Hi this is my presentation about Australia.  My group was learning to share our learning to a wide audience and find information about the world around us. I think that I was successful because I can use map skills to find locations, I can scan texts for key information, I can read texts to make connections with different countries and cultures.I think I enjoyed finding new information about another country . I think that I should put more information and find more information.
